Winifred McNeill

Winifred McNeill has shown her work in national and international venues, including exhibitions at the Yu Chun Gallery in Suzhou, China; The Morris Museum in Morristown, NJ; the Hun Gallery and mdh Gallery in New York City, the Ho Gallery in Seoul, Korea; the Museum of Modern Art in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic; The Montclair Museum in Montclair, NJ; the Jersey City Museum in Jersey City, NJ and the Maloney Art Gallery in the College of Saint Elizabeth in Convent Station, New Jersey. Most recently, she presented a one-person exhibition at the St. Stephens Cultural Foundation, in Rome, Italy.

Her work is in the following public collections: The Newark Public Library; The Zimmerli Art Museum; The New Jersey State Museum; The New Jersey State Council on the Arts; The Rutgers Center for Innovative Print and Paper and Rutgers the State University of New Jersey. Her drawings are featured in the limited edition letterpress book The Helen Fragments, which was published by Peter Koch Press. Winifred taught Drawing and Painting at St. Stephen’s School in Rome from 1980 until 1985. After returning to New York, she served as Curator of Education at the Jersey City Museum until 1995. Appointed to the Art Department faculty of New Jersey City University in 1995, she is currently a full Professor. She was awarded the Higher Education Art Educator of the Year in 2009 by the Art Educators of New Jersey. She was awarded a BFA from Boston University and an MFA from Queens College, CUNY.
